The program consists of 12-month modules for students with any level of proficiency in English, from complete beginner to advanced. For students who start without any previous background in the language the course will last about 12 months. Our Intensive course consists of a combination of Core English and Advanced Academic English Skills, comprising the four language skills -conversation, listening-comprehension, reading and writing. With our Advanced Academic Skills course (IEP level 7) students develop research and essay writing skills that will prepare them for a university degree program. The placement test may be taken at our center or online.

The CIEP is internationally recognized by more than 650 colleges and universities worldwide as an alternative to IELTS and TOEFL

The CIEP offers students a pathway to success in higher education as it fast-tracks the mastery of the English language efficiently and effectively. It does this by employing the proven communicative approach to language learning with a wide range of lively and highly interactive class activities. These activities challenge our students’ abilities while allowing them to have fun developing their English skills.

    1. Structure & Speaking Practice (SSP)

Students are taught to communicate accurately and effectively in English. Students learn Listening, Speaking, Vocabulary and Grammar and practice using language in meaningful situations through activities such as group work, role-playing and class presentations.

    1. Reading & Writing (R&W)

Students learn to improve their reading comprehension, increase their reading speed and develop their writing abilities. Reading and Writing lessons include group discussions and writing practice.

    • Skills Enhancement

Consisting of a variety of activities, this module provides students an active learning experience to develop communication skills. There are 3 components offered in a Skills Enhancement class:

    • Customized Learning Support (CLS)

Small group of classes where students will become more confident in discussions and learn skills such as problem-solving, research, critical thinking and English communication

    • Live Speak

Students will put into practice speaking and listening skills with an online instructor who will live stream and interact with them in real-time

    • Language Technology Centre (LTC):

Students are given independent and flexible access to the online personalized language learning activities developed for each ELS CIEP proficiency level
