University housing details
All foreign students can get accommodation in UTAR University residence in Malaysia or rent a room or apartment close to Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia. All university housing units come with basic facilities such as a bed, a wardrobe, a study desk, and a desk with chair. University housing costs at UTAR vary according to the type of housing unit, facilities and specifications available, ranging from approximately RM500 to RM1,700 per month.

Conditions for studying at the university
Admission requirements to UTAR Malaysia | |
For bachelor's degree applicants | Possess a high school diploma with a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4 or 62% out of 100%. Stage A or Stage O certificate with a grade of 2 out of 4 or 50% out of 100% minimum. |
For applicants to master's degrees | Possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum GPA of 2.7 out of 4 or 65% out of 100%. Note: Students with a BIM GPA of 2.5 to 2.7 may have a chance of taking admission if they have previous work experience. |
For PhD applicants | Possess a Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum grade point average of 2.7 out of 4 or 65% out of 100%. |

- Preparatory year specializations 4.5 in IELTS
- Bachelor’s majors: 5.5 in IELTS
- Postgraduate 6.0 in IELTS
