Partnerships or contracts for the university
IMU has partnerships with many international universities, including collaborations with prestigious universities from around the world. IMU spearheaded the concept of transferring credits for the medicine program to a partner university abroad. With 35 well-known universities from Australia, Canada, China, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
University housing details
If you are one of the foreign students, you have the opportunity to obtain university housing provided by the university instead of renting a room or apartment next to the university.
Also, some of the housing options available at SIGI University are:
- Campus housing: The university offers on-campus boarding accommodation, including single and shared rooms with shared facilities such as dining halls and sports facilities.
- Student apartments: In addition to on-campus housing, students can look for external apartments to rent in the surrounding areas, which provide privacy and independence.
- Homestay: Students can sometimes choose to stay with local families, which provides an opportunity to better understand Malaysian culture and improve language skills.
- Furnished apartments: Furnished apartments are available for rent that provide comfort and security for students.

Conditions for studying at the university
Admission requirements to IMU Malaysia | |
For bachelor's degree applicants | Possess a high school diploma with a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4 or 62% out of 100%. Stage A or Stage O certificate with a grade of 2 out of 4 or 50% out of 100% minimum. |
For applicants to master's degrees | Possess a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum GPA of 2.7 out of 4 or 65% out of 100%. Note: Students with a BIM GPA of 2.5 to 2.7 may have a chance of taking admission if they have previous work experience. |
For PhD applicants | Possess a Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum grade point average of 2.7 out of 4 or 65% out of 100%. |
Required language requirements
- Preparatory year: Bachelor’s diploma from 6.5 to 7 IELTS or its equivalent, depending on the specialization
- Master's and PhD, IELTS 6.5 or equivalent

Classes at IMU start at different times of the year and this year classes start at:
